The Saratoga Senior Center welcomes seniors, families, friends, and staff in the services industry to free breakfast and presentations in order to learn more about combating elder abuse. Herzog Law Firm will present “Financial Exploitation and How to Protect Yourself,” and the US Attorneys Office will present “Common Scams and How to Avoid Them.” Following the presentations, there will be a Q&A with the presenters, as well as the Domestic Violence Advocacy of Mechanicville.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Elder abuse is an intentional act or failure to act that causes or creates a risk of harm to an older adult. An older adult is someone age 60 or older. The abuse often occurs at the hands of a caregiver or a person the elder trusts.”
Protect yourself, your peers, your loved ones, and the ones you serve by educating yourself. This event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP as seating is limited. Call 518.584.1621!
